Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb fresh italian sausage links - nitrate-free
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 8 oz white mushroom
- 2 red bell pepper
- 1 1/2 cup any tomato sauce
- coarse salt and ground black pepper to taste (optional)
- fresh parsley for garnishing (optional)
Steps
- Slice the sausage links into pieces and place them in a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion, garlic, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on High for 60 to 70 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
- Check that the sausage reaches 165 F before serving.
