Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and butter a baking sheet.
Beat the butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth, then beat in the egg and vanilla.
Stir in the flour to make a soft dough, divide it into three portions, and mix chocolate into one portion.
Mix pecans and green food coloring into the second portion, then mix cherries, almond extract, and red food coloring into the third.
