Ingredients

2/3 cup un-popped popcorn kernels
2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup half and half
1 tbsp light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
6 drops red food coloring

Steps

Pop the kernels in 2 tablespoons cooking oil in a covered 6-quart pot over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Boil the sugar, half and half, corn syrup, and salt in a medium saucepan for 8 minutes until the syrup reaches 235 F.
Remove the syrup from the heat and stir in the vanilla and red food coloring.
Pour the syrup over the popcorn in a large bowl and toss until evenly coated.
Spread the popcorn on a large pan and cool for 7 minutes until crisp.
