Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and prepare two baking sheets.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, flour, salt, vanilla, egg, and oats.
  4. Drop small spoonfuls onto the sheets, leaving space between cookies.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
  6. Cool the cookies on the sheets for 2 minutes before moving them.
