Ingredients

1 lb nuts
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 lb phyllo dough
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup honey
2/3 cup white sugar
3/4 cup water

Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and melt the butter.
Simmer the honey, sugar, vanilla, and water in a saucepan for 5 minutes, then set the syrup aside.
Chop the nuts and stir them with the cinnamon.
Brush a 9-by-13-inch pan with butter, layer half the phyllo with butter between sheets, and add the nuts.
Cover with the remaining buttered phyllo and cut it into squares.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until crisp and golden, then pour the syrup over the hot baklava.
