Ingredients

9 oz gingernut biscuits
10 oz butter
1 tin sweetened condensed milk
6 oz caster sugar
1/4 pint double cream
2 bananas

Steps

Crush the biscuits, mix them with 4 ounces melted butter, and press the mixture into an 8-inch pie pan.
Chill the crust for 10 minutes.
Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan, add the condensed milk and sugar, and cook over medium-low heat for 12 minutes, stirring often.
Cool the caramel for 15 minutes, then spread it over the crust.
Slice the bananas over the caramel and whip the cream until thick.
Spread the whipped cream over the bananas and chill the pie for 20 minutes.
