Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 oz unsalted butter
  • 5 tbsp ice water

Steps

  1. Whisk the flour, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture has pea-sized pieces.
  3. Stir in the ice water until the dough just comes together.
  4. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it, and chill for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll the dough into a 10-inch round and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.
  6. Heat the oven to 425 F and bake the crust for 20 minutes, until lightly golden.
