Steps

Place the prepared cooled white cake made from the cake mix in a 9-by-13-inch pan.
Prepare the red and blue gelatin separately with one-half cup boiling water and one-half cup cold water each.
Poke deep holes across the cake with the handle of a wooden spoon.
Pour the red and blue gelatin into separate holes, alternating colors across the cake.
