Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups fresh cherries

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and butter a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, salt, and 3/4 cup melted butter, then press the mixture into the pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes.
  4. Whisk the eggs, 1 cup sugar, sour cream, 1/4 cup flour, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Arrange the cherries over the warm crust and pour the custard over them.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes, then cool the bars completely before cutting.
