Ingredients
- 3 lb sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp orange juice
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Steps
- Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into half-inch slices.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, orange juice, and vanilla.
- Arrange the sweet potato slices in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and pour the glaze over them.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake at 375 F for 35 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for 10 more minutes, then let the yams rest for 5 minutes.
