Ingredients

1 lb dried apricots
4 quarts warm water
6 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups raisins
1 tbsp ginger
2 lemons
2 oranges
1/2 yeast cake

Steps

Put apricots, raisins, ginger, sliced lemons, sliced oranges, and warm water in a large pot.
Stir in both sugars and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and cool the mixture until lukewarm, about 10 minutes.
Crumble in the yeast cake and stir gently until dissolved.
Strain the drink into a clean container and let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.
