Ingredients

  • 6 cups tart apples
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup salted butter

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-by-8-inch baking dish with cooking oil.
  2. Toss the apples with granulated sugar, apple pie spice, and lemon juice.
  3. Mix the flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and breadcrumbs until coarse crumbs form.
  4. Layer the apples and crumbs in the dish, ending with crumbs on top.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes, then cool for 5 minutes before serving.
