Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp oil
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract or 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch square baking pan with oil.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then stir in the sugar, oil, milk, cocoa, and vanilla.
  3. Beat in the eggs and almond extract until smooth.
  4. Stir in the flour until no dry spots remain.
  5. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center is firm.
  6. Cool the brownies in the pan for 15 minutes before cutting.
