Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 10-inch oven-safe skillet.
  2. Melt the butter in the skillet over low heat, then cool it for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla into the butter.
  4. Whisk the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa in a bowl, then stir them into the skillet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and spread the dough evenly in the skillet.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center is fully baked, then cool for 15 minutes.
