Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup currants
  • 1/4 cup milk

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Melt the butter, then stir in the sugar, milk, and currants.
  3. Mix the oats, flour, baking soda, cloves, and cinnamon in a bowl, then stir them into the butter mixture.
  4. Drop the dough by spoonfuls onto the baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  5. Bake the cookies for 12 to 15 minutes, until the edges are set.
  6. Cool the cookies on the sheets for 10 minutes before moving them to a rack.
