Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets.
Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, and half the coconut in a bowl.
Beat the butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla, then stir in the flour mixture.
Drop rounded spoonfuls onto the baking sheets, flatten them slightly, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Beat the remaining butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth while the cookies cool.
