Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas drained
- 60 ml /2fl oz oil plus 30ml/1fl oz for a looser consistency
- 1 small garlic clove peeled and crushed
- 1 lemon juiced then 1/2 zested
- 3 tbsp /45ml tahini
- 1 tbsp olive oil to garnish (optional)
- mixed crudités and toasted pitta bread (optional)
Steps
- Add the chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice and zest, tahini, and 60 ml oil to a food processor.
- Blend for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl once, until smooth.
- Blend in up to 30 ml water or oil until the hummus reaches your preferred consistency.
- Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.
- Spoon into a bowl and drizzle with the optional olive oil.
