Typical price: Salefork's estimate of an everyday US shelf price for each ingredient. Pick your city to price it from this week's ad.

The amounts listed are small for a full dinner, so this price per serving is likely low. Plan on a side or a bigger portion.

Ingredients

  • 1 butternut squash
  • 3 tbsp canola oil
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 3/4 cups 2% milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 8 oz fontina cheese
  • 3/4 cups grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 425 F, halve the squash, coat it with 1 tablespoon oil, and roast cut-side down on a baking sheet for 25 minutes.
  2. Boil the lasagna noodles in a large pot of water until tender, then drain them.
  3. Scoop the squash into a bowl and mash it with the heavy cream until mostly smooth.
  4. Melt the butter with the remaining oil in a saucepan over medium heat, cook the garlic for 1 minute, then whisk in the flour, milk, rosemary, salt, and pepper for 5 minutes.
  5. Spread sauce in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish, then layer noodles, squash, sauce, fontina, and Parmesan, repeating until used.
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 375 F for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for 10 minutes until bubbling.
