Ingredients
- 1 lb ground italian sausage
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 8 oz whole-milk ricotta
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- sea salt (optional)
- 8 oz mozzarella
- 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F.
- Cook the sausage and fennel seeds in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart, until browned and 160 F, about 8 minutes.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and gnocchi, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Dollop the ricotta over the skillet and sprinkle on the mozzarella.
- Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, until bubbling and the cheese is melted.
- Top with parsley and rest for 2 minutes before serving.
