Ingredients
- 1 package (8 oz) herb seasoned stuffing mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp dried onion flakes
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and grease a 9-inch pie plate with cooking oil.
- Stir the stuffing mix, boiling water, and melted butter in a bowl, then let it stand for 5 minutes.
- Press two-thirds of the stuffing mixture across the bottom and sides of the pie plate.
- Mix the ground beef, egg, ketchup, onion flakes, seasoning salt, thyme, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread the beef mixture in the crust, cover it with the remaining stuffing, and sprinkle the cheddar on top.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the beef reaches 160 F and the egg is firm.
