Steps

Whisk the sugar, eggs, and milk in a medium saucepan until smooth.
Cook over medium-low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and at least 160 F.
Stir in the peanut butter, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth.
Cool the custard in the saucepan for 10 minutes.
Pour the custard into a shallow metal pan and freeze for 30 minutes, stirring once after 15 minutes.
