Ingredients
- 6 ears silver queen corn
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1/2 cup bacon drippings
- 1/2 cup butter
- salt (optional)
- pepper (optional)
- 1 cup milk or 1 cup if you want it to be ultra rich use half-and-half
Steps
- Cut the kernels from the corn and finely chop the onion.
- Heat the bacon drippings and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the onion for 3 minutes, until softened.
- Add the corn and cook for 8 minutes, stirring often.
- Pour in the milk and simmer for 5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
