Typical price: Salefork's estimate of an everyday US shelf price for each ingredient. Pick your city to price it from this week's ad.

The amounts listed are small for a full dinner, so this price per serving is likely low. Plan on a side or a bigger portion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp extra light olive oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 5 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or added to taste (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 12 oz frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/4 cup green onion

Steps

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into small pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 7 to 9 minutes, until it reaches 165 F.
  3. Push the chicken aside, add 1 tablespoon oil, and scramble the eggs until firm, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the remaining oil, rice, peas, and carrots, then stir-fry for 6 to 8 minutes until hot.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, chicken, and green onion, then cook for 2 minutes.
