Ingredients
- 1 package (12 oz) dry penne pasta
- 1 lb mild italian sausage
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes with garlic
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F.
- Boil the penne in salted water for 8 minutes, then drain.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook sausage and onion for 8 minutes, until the sausage reaches 160 F.
- Stir in white wine, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste, then simmer for 7 minutes.
- Combine the penne and sauce in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella and bake for 20 minutes, until bubbling and melted.
