Spaghetti with beef and onion meat sauce

Plain jarred sauce gets a pound of browned beef and onion to turn it into a real family dinner. About $2.85 a serving at typical prices.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Pasta (spaghetti)
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 24 oz Pasta sauce
  • 0.5 lb Onions
  • 1 Garlic
  • 2 oz Parmesan

From the pantry: Dried spices (cumin, paprika, chili powder, oregano) (Italian seasoning), Salt and pepper.

Steps

  1. Boil the spaghetti in salted water until tender.
  2. Brown the beef with chopped onion and garlic; drain the fat.
  3. Add the sauce and seasoning and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta, toss with the sauce and top with parmesan.
