Ingredients
- 17 oz pizza dough
- 3/7 cup pizza sauce
- 4 oz fresh buffalo mozzarella
- freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano (optional)
- 3 1/2 fresh basil leaves (optional)
- extra virgin olive oil (optional)
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 pinch salt (optional)
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 475 F and place a baking sheet inside to warm.
- Crush the canned tomatoes with their sauce, stir in two teaspoons olive oil and salt, and set aside.
- Stretch the dough into one large round and place it on the hot baking sheet.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, then add mozzarella, basil, and the crushed tomato mixture.
- Bake for ten to twelve minutes until the crust is browned and the cheese is melted.
- Drizzle with olive oil and rest the pizza for five minutes before slicing.
